. in the north bay, just under 2 in.. one half inch pan san francisco, traces and dublin. and oakland, also not that much but this system is just as strong as the last one. we will see scattered showers with the high wind advisory in place for the bay bridge. the high wind advisory starting at 10:00 p.m. the heaviest rainfall and corn will be tomorrow morning court wednesday. the good news is that-quarter will be tomorrow but a decrease in showers for the latter part of said it will not be that bad. we will time it out on futurecast. i will let you know what we can expect. when we can get a break. >> we are going to jeff bush. you say that residents are looking at a rapidly rising river? >> let me put this into perspective take a look behind me. this is the parking lot behind johnson's speech. 2 mi. from downtown and the water is already risen. the parking lot and set to about 2 ft. or that grassy area is toward a normal river level is nearly 50 ft.. so it has risen nearly 100 ft.. let me show you video from earlier the russian resort is swollen. in some portions of it is up to the tree bra

to the east and fairfield, concord, danville, richland, oakland, the south bay. we are looking at scattered showers in fremont. san jose dry, morgan hill with a few scattered showers and along the peninsula, san francisco in to the south bay and along the coastline, pacifica getting wet. half moon bay dry but you can expect scattered showers as well. the satellite, radar, we have this moving through. this is going to be pretty much the most we see for this morning. behind us we will get a bit of a break that you can see that moisture plume just a river of moisture that will continue driving our way and by tomorrow morning, the bulk of this third and final round of rain will come our way. giving you a look. dealing with the scattered showers but by midmorning mostly cloudy but mostly dry. we have a lot of moisture in the air, a few scattered showers a possibility but by sunset here comes more of a steady light rain and into tomorrow morning there is the wallup over the north bay. into 7:00 it's now shifting. at this time tomorrow morning we will be dealing with this, very heavy, rain at time

there are no suspects and police are investigating. >>> police are investigating a homicide in east oakland. authorities responded last flight to a possible domestic violence incident. a woman was shot and killed. there were children inside the home but they were not hurt. a short time later a man called police and turned himself in. >> funeral services will be held this weekend for two teen girls shot in oakland last month. services for the 16-year-old will be held today at colonial chapel. tomorrow they will be held for the 15-year-old. they were found on november 25th near brook dale park. no arrests have been made. >> kat williams has been arrested. sheriff deputies found him last night at a gas station. he was wanted on a felony warrant for leading the chp on a chase. officers say he almost hit five people while riding a three wheeled motorcycle on the sidewalk. he also faces assault charges for this incident with a target store employee. >> the nation's highest court has agreed to address the issue of same sex marriage. the united states supreme court said yesterday it'll hear two cases challe

is on for the killer of a 15-year-old girl who was shot at an east oakland housing complex yesterday afternoon at 66th avenue and lion way. police say it appears the victim was walking with a group of people when a gunman opened fire. a 14-year-old boy was also shot but his injuries are not life- threatening. witnesses telling police the shooter appeared to be between 13 and 16 years old. >>> it brings oakland's homicide total to 131 for 2012. that is a 27% increase from 2011. here in san francisco, 67 murders for the year, a one- third increase over 2011. san jose's 45 relatively low for a city of its side but still 12.5% higher than last year. >>> police think the driver who crashed into a concord funeral home was involved in a street race. a 16-year-old was behind the wheel of a 1974 chevy nova. police say the teenager was going well over the 40-mile-an- hour speed limit. and apparently he was racing another 16-year-old. a service was just beginning when the car crashed into the ouimet brothers funeral chapel. >> literally five seconds after i had entered the side room we heard what we thought was

was involved in a slow- speed chase early this morning all the way from san jose to oakland. officers began pursuing that car because it had no headlights. they used a spike strip. the driver was arrested to be charged with recklessly evading police officers. >>> a coast guard investigation into a suspected smuggling off the smash county coastline has turned tragic. a small boat deployed by the coast guard was rammed by a smuggler's vessel before dawn yesterday. the collision threw two coast guard members into the water. one of them was killed. another was injured in the incident. >>> l.a. police say four people have been found shot to death, their bodies face down outside a large home in suburban northridge. the dead were two women in their 20s, a man in his 30s and man in his 40s. it happened early yesterday morning. the home apparently was an unlicensed boardinghouse. detectives are now looking into a motive. >>> one of the safest big cities in america has hit a homicide milestone. san jose on friday reached its 43rd killing of the year when a 17-year-old boy was gunned down in a residen

and warnings posted into the north bay through the santa cruz mountains. heaviest towards oakland stretching east of napa and san rafael. all this activity continuing to barrel in as we head toward the overnight hours. the main brunt of the storm is not even here yet. it's some 1,000 miles off the coast. you can see it kind of getting pulled into our jet stream. it's going to continue to follow right along the jet stream bringing it here across the bay sometime tomorrow morning. we're guessing about 4:00 in the morning is when we'll start to seat heaviest of stuff. that will continue about 9:00 to 10:00 tomorrow morning. 1 to 3 inches of rain expected for most of us. mountains could see four to six. wind gusts will be very high tomorrow. in fact very dangerous with all the rain we've already seen especially with some of the trees and the very saturated soil and our rising river's going to be a concern. here we go. the rain pushes through tonight and then a line of storms about 5:00 in the north bay when the heaviest of stuff pulls through the north bay. around 8:00 the east bay, san francisc

of the damage out of oakland. a number of homes damaged because of flooding and rains there. roads damaged as well this is widespread, across the bay area, southern parts of oregon, just the infrastructure can't handle this moisture and underwashing some of these roadways. rescues, high water rescues yesterday and over the weekend. you can just imagine when some of these small streams come up and over the roadways, if you're driving through them people get stuck. the crews are brought in to try to get the job done and folks to safety. across napa valley, incredible flooding there. the napa valley seeing some of its worst rainfall in years. look at these numbers. petrolia, california, over 17 inches. bridgeville, 15 inches. that's an incredible amount of rain. to see that much rainfall is truly remarkable. we are seeing more in the way of rainfall across seattle and portland it has stopped for today in the san francisco area. some of the rainfall yesterday fell in the form of snow, snow levels at about 5,000 feet. i suppose it could have been worse. elsewhere, looking at a foggy travel acro

of oakland, where there is this huge, huge sinkhole. i'm guessing you're standing somewhere near it, dan. show me what it is and how they're going to fix it. >> reporter: yeah, hey, brook, we're standing in the middle of this enormous sinkhole in lafayette, california, about 20 miles east of san francisco. you can see some of the crews here clearing away the debris. let me explain to you how this happened. there is actually a creek that runs underneath this, or it did. and it basically got clogged and it tore away all the dirt, all the mud, and with it brought down the street. you can see the entire street basically caved in, no traffic going on either side. this is a major inconvenience for the people who live in this neighborhood. you can see one of the things that crews had to do is they had to set up a temporary sewer line. also a temporary water line. this is one of the lines here, they went to extraordinary lengths to make sure that the people in this neighborhood aren't affected in terms of their basic services. now, this was one of the storms that came by, just a couple of days a

infrastructure damage, as well. some video out of oakland in and around this area, lafayette there, this home damage, a number of them, you get near the hillside, that brings down debris and boulders and mud, and that does damage not only to homes but on the other side of roadways, we've got damage from a number of primary and secondary roads in and around this bay area. a tremendous amount of rainfall that has just undermined those structures. so you've got issues with that, as well. of course people driving through these flooded streets. you've got a need for rescues. the fire departments and their swift water rescue teams were out in full force over the weekend rescuing people. this is in cuss cadder ra and a number of other people had to be rescued. napa valley tremendous rainfall there. napa river up and over its floodbanks. the sacramento river also in flood stage. in some cases, almost a foot and a half of rainfall in this five-day period. raining right now in seattle to portland. not raining right now in sacramento and san francisco. but that will likely change as we get through tomor
